October 14th, 2016
On Friday, October 14th, 2016, we came together with the community to collect donations at TD Ban on 926 N Colony Road. We saw lots of friendly faces, all supporting The Sisters’ Project. The team engaged with everyone who came to the event while sporting their pink breast cancer awareness ribbons. One of the first donations came from a breast cancer survivor and Customer who had received support from The Sisters’ Project.
Many supporters shared stories of their battles with cancer and took the time to sign the event poster. And to spread the word beyond the event, Fox News stopped by for footage and interviews. Thanks to local support and a grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, we raised a total of $2,445.70, giving The Sisters’ Project over half of the funds they needed to award the two $2,000 annual scholarships.

Joyce Altieri, owner of Flair for Hair in North Haven, held her annual Cut-A-Thon on Sunday, October 25th, in memory of her sister Joni who lost her battle with breast cancer 17 years ago. This year, Joyce has chosen to donate the funds raised to The Sisters’ Project. During the month of October, several raffles were held to help raise money. They were able to raise $3,729.35! The Sisters’ Project is so grateful to these wonderful women for their incredible support!
Mark T. Sheehan High School Soccer Program
The Mark T. Sheehan High School boys and girls soccer teams recently raised funds to support The Sisters’ Project, and a check was presented to them on the field. These young people are learning the importance of “paying it forward” to those in need, and we are proud to receive these funds in their name!

On Saturday, September 26th, The Sisters’ Project held their Second Annual Golf Tournament at Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford. It was a huge success, and fun was had by all who attended! We even had a hole in one on the third tee made by Kyle Moscovics— he was a foursome with Conor Murphy, Rob Murratti and Justin MacDonald!
